FAQ
Welcome to our FAQ section where we address common queries about our pelvic health physical therapy services. Have a question that isn't answered here? Feel free to reach out to us for more information. We are here to provide you with the knowledge and support you need on your journey to better pelvic health.
-
What do I wear?Anything you feel comfortable in that allows you to move freely. Most of my patients prefer to wear an athletic top, athletic shorts/ leggings. You may be asked to do some functional motions depending on your history.
-
Do we take insurance? We are an out-of-network provider. Insurance doesn’t guide our treatment sessions and the therapist has the freedom to use their knowledge base and experience to best meet your needs. However, we do offer super bills which is a detailed receipt upon request to submit to your insurance. We accept HSA/ FSA cards and credit/ debit cards.
-
I'm trying to get pregnant, can pelvic floor PT help?Yes, but we don't guarantee that you will get pregnant. If there are any pelvic floor and abdominal muscle restrictions, it can make it difficult for the body to welcome a pregnancy or allow for implantation. We can check for muscular imbalances or nervous system issues that may be a contributing factor to your current inability to conceive. Our treatment also often costs much less than current fertility options on the market while empowering you with a much deeper understanding of your personal anatomy and function.
-
Can I still have my appointment if I’m menstruating?Yes, absolutely! This provides a lot of information as your body goes through multiple hormone cycles which affects your pelvic floor. There’s valuable information that can be gained from doing an external or internal examination.
-
Do I need a referral? In the state of Texas, a physical therapist can treat without a referral for 10 business days. Your therapist holds a board certification and can see you without a referral for 15 business days.
-
Who can give a referral?Physicians, chiropractors, dentists, advanced practice nurses (ex: nurse practitioners, nurse-midwives, nurse anesthetists, or clinical nurse specialists), physician assistants, optometrists, psychiatrists, and podiatrists.
-
Cancelation Policy?Appointments that are no showed will result in a full appointment session charge. Any cancelling or rescheduling of an appointment with less than a 24 hour notice will result in a charge of a full session. This applies to all in home and virtual appointments whether paying per time of service or with service package (soon to come).
-
Home Health fee?All services that involve your therapist traveling will include a $50 travel fee.
